What Is a Quartz Plate?

A quartz plate is a flat sheet of fused quartz glass cut from block or tube stock, used as optical windows, view ports, substrates, etch-tank walls and machineable blanks. Quartz plates hold flatness through thermal cycling and transmit UV through IR depending on grade — properties borosilicate sheets cannot offer.

Machining Options

Plates are highly machineable: drilling, slotting, pockets and custom outlines via CNC machining; edge and surface finishing via grinding and polishing. Cutting is done with diamond tooling for clean edges.
